I don't think it's necessary to pursue higher education if you don't want to. What are your thoughts on this?

This is a very difficult topic as a parent, isn't it? Who decides the path a child takes? Do we provide elite education from a young age or let children be free to choose? It might be an eternal problem.

When you chose to go to university or vocational school, did you have a clear sense of your future direction?

In my case, the goal was just to go to university, and I was pretty casual about job hunting. What I realized after starting work was that the experiences I had building relationships with friends and sometimes competing with them became practice for society. As a parent, I'd be happy if my child becomes someone who can tackle challenges they face with time and effort.

If the child says 'I don't have specific goals right now, but I want to go to school anyway,' then if it's economically feasible, I'd say let them go. If the child says 'I have no intention of going to school,' then I don't think you should force them. These days you can easily learn online. If there's something they want to study, they'll do it themselves. As for me, due to financial circumstances I couldn't go to university and had to work instead, but later I went to vocational school by saving money and working part-time.

Doing what you want to do at any given moment is the happiest way to live. If you get bored, you can quit, and it's not like you'll die. Assuming the premise is 'I don't have future goals or dreams,' first split into two patterns: ・The child wants to go ・The child doesn't want to go Each pattern can be explored further: ・Are they really thinking this from the bottom of their heart? ・What's the reason? If you properly unravel these questions, you should be able to find an answer. There is no single correct answer.
